Koorreen means south wind in
the language of the Gunditjmara people of South West Victoria.
This gorgeous two-bedroom
settler cottage (c.1900) is set on acreage just outside the coastal
township of Narrawong in South West Victoria. Turn in off the
Princes Highway 35 minutes west of Port Fairy; 2 minutes from
Narrawong.
Koorreen Cottage sleeps 6 and
is ideal for a family holiday, as the base for a group fishing
trip, family holiday or as a writer’s/artist’s retreat. The
main bedroom has a double bed and a single, while the second
bedroom has 3 sgl beds. Fully furnished and very comfortable.
The cottage has a wood-burning heater in the lounge. Outside there
is loads of room to wash down a boat, kick a footy or spot native
wildlife.
The fish are always biting
somewhere local. Koorreen Cottage is centrally located to Portland,
Port Fairy or Warrnambool and plenty of other inland rivers, lakes
and waterways.
It is a quick 2 minutes drive
to where the mouth of the Surry River meets the beach at Narrawong,
or the southern ocean is only a few minutes walk across the
paddocks. Just 12 minutes into Portland for a night out or for a
café latte. Or just relax around the fire and listen to the sounds
of the ocean or the native wildlife.
